Overview of a web design project

Project Overview

Rafeef was developed as a bilingual, mobile-first service booking platform tailored for the UAE market. The goal was to simplify the process of booking home cleaning services with features like real-time pricing, instant checkout, and seamless scheduling. Built on WordPress with a custom admin panel, the platform was designed to combine scalability with ease of management, while delivering a modern and trustworthy brand identity.

Key Objectives

The primary objectives were to provide a smooth booking experience for both English and Arabic users, integrate multiple payment gateways, and enable dynamic pricing based on service type and location. The platform also needed an intuitive admin system for managing bookings, content, and promotions, while ensuring users had quick access to support channels such as WhatsApp and inquiry forms.

Project Management

The project followed an agile approach, executed in phases covering branding, UI/UX, booking system development, payment integration, and admin panel customization. Regular sprints and client feedback loops allowed refinement of user flows, ensuring the platform met both technical and business goals. Testing cycles focused on multilingual accuracy, mobile responsiveness, and secure payment handling.

Technologies Used

The platform was powered by WordPress with custom PHP modules for booking and admin features. MySQL was used for database management, while frontend development relied on responsive HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Integrations included Stripe, Tabby, Tamara, Apple Pay, Google Pay, COD, WhatsApp API, Google Analytics, and SEO plugins with multilingual support.

Challenges

Key challenges included implementing dynamic, real-time pricing across varied service models, maintaining a consistent mobile-first UX while supporting RTL and LTR languages, and integrating multiple payment solutions with refund and cancellation logic. Designing a flexible admin panel on top of WordPress to manage bookings, pricing, inquiries, and reports added further complexity.

Solutions

The team developed a dynamic booking engine that instantly calculated pricing and availability based on user inputs. RTL support was carefully implemented to ensure full usability for Arabic speakers. A custom admin dashboard was built to provide role-based controls, booking management, content editing, and revenue reports. Payment integrations were secured and tested to handle multi-gateway workflows, while the UI was optimized for touch-based navigation and fast interactions.

Results

Rafeef launched as a robust, bilingual booking solution in the UAE. The streamlined checkout and responsive design improved user engagement and reduced booking time.
